'RADIO ONLINE' IS OUR NEW SCHEME FOR YOUNG WRITERS

  • Are you aged between 12-25?
  • Do you, live, work or study in the West Midlands?
  • Would you like to have a go at writing a short radio play?

Radio Online offers a wonderful opportunity for young writers, who have not previously written for radio, to write a short radio play (up to 15 minutes). The play should be inspired by sounds that will shortly be available via the RADIO page of this website.

Before submitting your play, you will have the opportunity to attend two workshops on writing for radio run by a BBC Radio Producer.

From the plays submitted, three will be chosen for recording. If yours is chosen, you will work on rewrites with a BBC Producer and then have the chance to watch your play being recorded.

Recorded plays will be available to listen to on this website and will also become part of the Birmingham Repertory Theatre's Transmissions Festival in July 2005. You'll also have your own copy to keep and take away.

Register your interest in taking part in this scheme by visiting the RADIO page to download and complete a form. You need to do this by 28 February 2005.

Note: Participating in this scheme is completely free. Radio Online is a collaboration between Script, Birmingham Rep and the BBC.
