SCRIPT NEWS - NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2005

CALLING ALL WRITERS' GROUPS IN THE WEST MIDLANDS

Script to offer free training...

Are you a member of a dramatic writers' group that meets regularly? Would your group members benefit from training or mentoring?

Recognising that writers' groups play an invaluable part in supporting and developing writers, Script is offering the opportunity for groups to assess their own training needs and to apply to Script for a series of sessions for the benefit of their members. The training will be absolutely free and will be undertaken by experienced industry practitioners. Up to four groups will be awarded the training. The awards will be made on the basis of demonstrable consultation within the group, a desire to attract new members, and the effectiveness of the training proposed.

Applications will only be accepted from groups which:

(a) Have a written statement of purpose

(b) Meet regularly and have at least 10 members

(c) Are open to new members

(d) Have a remit for dramatic writing i.e. writing for screen, radio or stage

Click Here to download an application form. Forms must be submitted by 31 January 2006. Training will commence in Spring 2006 in consultation with the group.
